The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Shareef, has announced the laptop scheme 2015. The main purpose of this scheme is to increase the access to Information Technology and enhance the quality of research work by providing free laptops to eligible students.
But there is an exciting news for students who will be receiving laptops from Govt. of Pakistan under the scheme this year 2015. This year, Haier will deliver laptop-cum-tablets and 170 Microsoft licensed software along with access to the digital library. Additionally, Haier will train engineers and set up performance testing laboratory in Pakistan.
Laptop-cum-tablets will be distributed among the students of BS, MS, PhD in November.
All students who are registered in HEC recognized institutions are eligible for this scheme but they must have at least 60% marks in their terminal exam.
Note: Students who are doing any kind of job (public or private) and who have earlier received their laptops in last year's scheme are not eligible for this initiative.
